The wedding season is officially on and opulence in design and embellishments in couture collections is expected. But choosing to make a subtle statement is Delhi-based designer Payal Jain who recently showcased her couture collection at a show held in the capital. Inspired by “beauty of the soul”,“Âme – The Soul” was light and breezy with Jain using delicately embellished fabrics such as chiffon and georgette. “The collection has been the amalgamation of all my beliefs and values. It’s my interpretation of the supreme soul, which is never born and never dies,” said Jain. The colours orange and fuchsia also find place in the collection that has both fluid as well as fitted silhouettes with asymmetrical hemlines. As far as embellishments go,Jain has used precious crystals, glass beads and pearls. With year-end bashes approaching, the lines in white with subtle red highlights as well as the fitted black dresses will be well suited for winter soirees.
