IIT-B to help colleges set up cells to train entrepreneurs

In a bid to create a platform for budding entrepreneurs,the entrepreneurship cell of IIT Bombay Saturday announced a pan-India competition to establish similar cells in colleges across the country.

In a bid to create a platform for budding entrepreneurs,the entrepreneurship cell of IIT Bombay Saturday announced a pan-India competition to establish similar cells in colleges across the country. Participating colleges will have to complete around 40 tasks,which include proposing ideas to start a business and designing a revenue model,among others.

“Designed to promote entrepreneurship in campuses,National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC) is the first-of-its kind pan-India competition undertaken by IIT Bombay’s entrepreneurship cell. It will ultimately direct these colleges to establish their own E-Cells,” said Pratik Agrawal,coordinator of IIT Bombay’s entrepreneurship cell.

Each college team will comprise seven students at least and will need the approval of the college director or principal to compete in the event.

The top 10 selected teams will have to pitch their ideas before experts during IIT Bombay’s entrepreneurship summit. The winning team will get Rs 2.5 lakh in cash and kind.
