FIR filed after woman threatened to withdraw rape case
According to police, on July 16, the woman allegedly received a threat letter from Dubai, saying her nude photos would be shared online if she did not withdraw the case. The letter included her picture.

The Bandra police arrested the accused, but the woman continues to face threats, as per her complaint.
A 36-year-old woman, who filed a rape case has complained that she has been receiving continuous threats to withdraw the case. Based on her complaint, Ghatkopar police have registered an FIR.
According to police, on July 16, the woman allegedly received a threat letter from Dubai, saying her nude photos would be shared online if she did not withdraw the case. The letter included her picture.
On August 5, while traveling in an autorickshaw in Ghatkopar, an unknown person allegedly threatened her at knifepoint, demanding withdrawal the case.
The assailant, approximately 35 years old, fled after another autorickshaw driver intervened, her complaint said.
The woman filed the rape case in April against her friend’s brother, who allegedly raped her in January. His sister, who allegedly made a video of the incident, is absconding.
The Bandra police arrested the accused, but the woman continues to face threats, as per her complaint.
