Fearing failure in exam,20-year-old kills self

Fearing that he might fail his TYBSc chemistry examination,a 20-year-old student committed suicide in his Goregaon home Friday.

Fearing that he might fail his TYBSc chemistry examination,a 20-year-old student committed suicide in his Goregaon home Friday.

Amit Dubey,son of former local Bajrang Dal leader Parshuram Dubey,had left a suicide note that said he was weak in chemistry and as he could not prepare for his chemistry paper,he had decided to end his life,police said.

Amit lived with his parents in Bangurnagar,Goregaon (West),police said. He was a third year Bsc student in a Kandivali college.

Police said on Friday night when his father and mother had gone out,Amit committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan. “When his mother returned home,she found the door locked and Amit was not responding to repeated knocks”,an officer said.A police team broke open the door and took the body to Bhagwati Hospital for post-mortem.
