Two days after a Std VIII student was arrested for allegedly attacking a Std X student with a blade in a Malad (East) school during recess, parents of other students have threatened to withdraw their wards from the school if it fails to initiate stringent action in the matter. Some of the parents have even asked the school management to expel the Sstd VIII student.

On Monday, the victim Nishant Shukla (15) was slashed from the right cheek to the neck by a boy studying in Std VIII in the same school, and he is currently recuperating in Suchak hospital after receiving 25-30 stitches.

The Dindoshi police registered an attempt to murder case against the aggressor and sent him to a children’s remand home.

Following the incident, the school called for a meeting of the school management and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) on Wednesday morning. During the meeting, parents of the victim and  those of other students demanded that theSTD VIII boy be expelled for his misconduct.

“He can pose a danger to other students too. My son could have lost his life. He should be expelled and this is the opinion of maximum parents of this school,” said Suresh Shukla, Nishant’s father.

However, the school has not yet taken a decision on whether to expel the boy.
