Train commuters were a harried lot as well,as Central Railway’s harbour line services were hit after a pantograph of a Panvel-Vadala Road local train got entangled in the overhead equipment at the crossover at Vadala Road station around 9 am. This resulted in blocking of platforms 2,3 and 4. Services were restored around 9.50 am but 25 up and down services were cancelled. The restoration took 50 minutes but due to bunching, many trains were delayed till afternoon. The CR spokesperson said,“Two services were diverted via the main line and six locals were locked up between Vadala Road and Kurla during this period. Trains during the morning peak period were running 25-30 minutes behind schedule. This also resulted in bunching of locals on the harbour line.”
