Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday urged the ministers to not engage in letter wars and instead resolve the issues by directly approaching him.
Speaking to mediapersons in Nagpur, the CM said, “There is clear division of work for cabinet minister and MoS. And everybody should abide by it. At the same time, cabinet ministers should also ensure MoS are given their responsibilities and rights. MoS holding review meeting does not amount to violation… If anybody has any problem, they should come to me. There is no need for issuing letters.”
The CM was referring to the letter exchange between Shiv Sena cabinet Minister for Social Justice Sanjay Shirsat and BJP Minister of State (MoS) Madhuri Misal.
Shirsat wrote letter questioning Misal over convening a meeting and issuing directives on issues concerning the department.
Shirsat pointed that as junior minister ( MoS), Misal violated the rules. And that if she had to hold a meeting, it should have been in his presence or with his permission.
“You are aware that many meetings are being organised at my level on these subjects. To ensure proper coordination, you should have sought my prior permission and struck to the subjects which have been allocated to you,” Shirsat wrote.
In her reply, Misal stated, “I don’t think I have violated any norm. I have convened the meeting within my jurisdiction… I am just adhering to the directives and plans laid out for 150 days, for which I have sought CMO permission. In any case, I have not taken any policy decision in the meetings.”
