Mumbai: Disaster management training for Haj pilgrims

The trainers were provided information on the probable types of disasters.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has given disaster management training to Haj pilgrims. As many as 482 trainers from across India participated in the three-day training programme and will return to their states to train other pilgrims, a senior civic official said.

The trainers were provided information on the probable types of disasters and how they can be fought as well as how to make proper use of the white garment provided during the pilgrimage, the official added.

Officials said that Haj House of Mumbai conducts training for Haj pilgrims every year and from this year onwards, disaster management training will be a part of the programme.
