While many guests at the party chose to keep quiet about the raid and the tests that followed,a few spoke about their innocence. In a statement sent to the media, fashion designer Rocky S clarified he was not aware of the rave party.

“Yes,I was present at Oakwood Premier when the incident took place but I had just dropped by for 10 minutes to wish my friend,Samantha,to bring in her birthday. Since I had a flight to catch the next morning,I was just on my way out when the incident occurred. I was shocked as the raid started, more so since I hadn’t done drugs or anything like that. Had I known this would turn out to be a rave party,I would not have been a part of it as I am against drugs. I understand these are legal procedures and I will fully cooperate with the system and have thus gone through the required tests. I am confident of getting a clean chit as I have never done drugs in my life. There is nothing for me to be worried about and the test results shall prove my innocence.”

Cricketer Rahul Sharma from Pune Warriors claimed he was invited to a birthday party. “Wayne Parnell was with me,I did not know there was a rave party at the hotel,” said the spinner, who along with his teammate, was detained by the police after the raid. “We reached there around 7 pm and within half an hour, the raid happened. We didn’t know what was happening,I asked the police officers and they told me a raid was in progress,” he said. Sharma added that he has informed his team management about everything and would wait to get things cleared once the reports come out.

Meanwhile, the BCCI issued a statement clarifying that they are aware of the media reports surrounding the episode. “The players had completed their commitments for the 2012 IPL season, they remain contracted to Pune Warriors India and the IPL. There will be no further comment or action by BCCI-IPL until the results of the investigation by the authorities concerned are known.”

In the afternoon, television actress Shilpa Agnihotri held a press conference and said no drugs were consumed. “We were not aware of any rave party. We have cooperated with the police. We,however, are worried with the way our blood samples were being taken. They were not being sealed or taped properly and we were a bit uncomfortable with that. We hope they are in order as we have ensured our cooperation,” she said.

A few celebrities who attended the party claimed they were attending a birthday party and could have been at the wrong place at the wrong time. “When we reached the venue, there was no other party going on there other than this rave party. However,we reached a little late and it is possible that there would have been another party there,” says Vishwas Nangre-Patil,Additional Commissioner of Police (West).
