He described Dharmendra as a dazzling star who lit up the golden era of Hindi films, portraying a wide range of roles – from dreamy young heroes to powerful, action-packed leads. He added that the actor, popularly known as Bollywood’s “He-Man,” will always remain in the hearts of film enthusiasts.
“The veteran actor gave Bollywood a new concept and perspective through his character and enacted in more than 300 films in the last 65 years of long career. He has left a lasting imprint in the world of cinema. From Satyakan to Sholay, he played the lead roles which were widely acclaimed by masses. He stood as a witness and easily adopted the transformation in Bollywood from tradition to technology. Like his character Veru in the film Sholay, he always stood for friendship in real life also. I offer deep condolences to the Deol family and pray they get strength to withstand the loss in these difficult times,” Fadnavis said.
