Dharmai winner wins tourney for Chimbai

The win helped Chimbai win the tournament for the first time in the club's history.

Floyd Dharmai’s last minute effort against Bandra Packers was enough to give Chimbai Sports Club the win in the Men’s Premier Division final of the 10th Bandra West Football League,played at the Dr. Norman Lewis Supari Talao Municipal ground. The win helped Chimbai win the tournament for the first time in the club’s history.

In the Division-I title match,Skylarks FC beat Young XI 5-4 on penalties after finishing regulation time with a goal apiece. Prakash Bist scored in the first minute of the game for Skylarks,only for Rakesh Verma to equalise.

In the women’s event,Sea View Sports Club were crowned champions after a 1-0 win,courtesy a Blanca Barreto strike,against Football Leaders.

A Stanley Fernandes brace secured a 2-0 win for Bandra West Tigers against Bandra West Lions in the Veterans event,and favourites St. Stanislaus High School beat St. Aloysius High School 3-2 in the penalty shoot after finishing their Interschool boys under-14 final in a goalless draw.

AI Colony continue winning streak

Air India Colony continued their winning run after beating Kalin Rangers 1-0 in the Kalina Football League. AI’s third successive win has now given them the top spot in the league. In another match,Kalina Trashers ran riot in their 6-0 win over Nester Compound.

Bohara brace helps St Joseph

A Bhishnu Bohara brace helped his St. Joseph’ (Wadala) side trounce St. Theresa (Bandra) 3-0 in their under-14 first division clash of the MSSA Inter School Football Tournament,played at Azad Maidan. Twain Fernandes scored the remaining goal in the game.

In other under-14 first division games,Campion School beat Navy Children from Colaba 2-0 and Don Bosco (Matunga) beat Cathedral & John Connon 1-0. Meanwhile in the under-16 fourth division,DPYA Dadar beat Sharon English from Mulund 2-0 and D.Y Patil (Worli) beat St. Pius X (Mulund) 1-0.
