Kamala Keltar (85), a retired teacher from a zilla parishad school, has decided to hand over one month’s pension to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the Jalyukt Shivar (water conservation projects). She also set aside one more month’s pension amount for construction of toilets under the Swacha Maharashtra Abhiyan.
So far the public has contributed Rs 350 crore for Jalyukt Shivar projects. On Saturday, Balasaheb Chauhan, a farmer from Sanaswadi who had saved Rs 51,000 from his son’s wedding expenses, decided to contribute the amount he had saved for the CM’s Relief Fund.
The Jalyukt Shivar programme is one of the flagship programmes of the government.
