Devendra Fadnavis calls Pakistan ‘terrorist nation’, says Indian armed forces giving it ‘befitting response’

“Our armed forces are capable and doing great work.”

Fadnavis also said the Maharashtra government held a meeting to review its internal security preparations on Friday.

“We reviewed the security preparedness as per war book alerts and guidelines. We assessed the coordination amongst district units, complete with sharing of information and resources,” he said.

During the meeting, Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and senior administrative and police officers from the state, instructed officials to conduct mock drills and establish a war room at the district level.

He also emphasised the need to create a coordination mechanism with hospitals during power outages and to implement an alternative power system to ensure continuous operations.

The Maharashtra government has cancelled holidays of all officials in important posts, especially those from health and disaster management.

Officials have been directed to establish a system to provide citizens with up-to-date and accurate information about the situation.

In the meeting, Fadnavis said police cyber cells in every district must monitor social media, identify handles supporting Pakistan, and act against them.

The police have also been instructed to conduct more combing operations and increase patrols.

India Saturday said Pakistan’s actions overnight have been “escalatory” and “provocative” and that its military attempted air intrusions at more than 26 locations from Srinagar to Nalia, which the Indian military was able to “neutralise”.
