Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Friday wrote a letter to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds the Home portfolio, alleging that he has been receiving death threats.
In the letter, Raut claimed that he and his brother have been receiving threats, and urged Fadnavis to take action. “For the past two days, I have been receiving constant death threats. Similar calls are also coming to my brother and state Legislative Assembly member Sunil Raut. Stop talking against the government of Maharashtra or else we will be beaten to death – this is the gist of the threat,” the Sena spokesperson said.
The letter has also been marked to Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar. Raut added that the call recordings have been sent to Phansalkar.
“I have informed you about the threats I received before, but no action seems to have been taken. It is a matter of concern that the photos of the goon from Thane who conspired to attack me are being displayed on hoardings along with the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister. The recordings of the new threats I have received have been sent to the Mumbai Police Commissioner. I am writing this letter only for your information,” it stated.
