CR general managers meet Mumbai, Thane MPs

To discuss additional suburban local train services and freeing Railway-owned land of hawkers.

Central Railway (CR) General Manager Sunil Kumar Sood met several members of the Parliament from Mumbai and Thane district to discuss additional suburban local train services and freeing Railway-owned land of hawkers.

“The pending proposed work of doubling of Panvel-Karjat route should be emphasised by railway authorities,” said Kapil Patil, an MP from Bhiwandi.

“The BMC and CR should address the problem of hawkers encroaching upon Railway land in Dadar,” said Mumbai South Central MP Rahul Shewale. Mumbai North East MP Kirit Somaiya brought up the issue of increasing the height of platforms, Bombardier rakes, and the conversion of suburban trains from Alternate Current (AC) to Direct Current (DC).
