With no clues on the whereabouts of a six-year-old boy who went missing from Mahavir Nagar,Kandivali (west) over 10 days ago, police officers of the western suburbs will now form teams to comb every house in the area as well as send the boys photograph to police stations across the country.
Karnit Anant Shah was playing inside his building before he went missing on April 6. Karnit and his sister Yuti (10) had gone with their friends to play cricket. Upset at getting stumped,he was last seen sitting away from his friends. His father has since posted messages on social networking sites and elsewhere in a bid to seek information about his son.
Police said a team including women personnel will knock on the door of every household from Malad to Borivali to look for the boy. We will go to every hut, every chawl and every building premises and knock on every door to find Karnit, said an officer from the zone. Earlier 40 police officers from eight police stations in Zone 11 teamed up to trace Karnit. The police suspect it to be a case of kidnapping, but the boys parents have not received any ransom call.
We are undertaking a combing operation, said Hareshwar Pimple, senior inspector of Kandivali police. We suspect a 20-year-old man named Sunny might have kidnapped him as he was also present inside the building. He does not stay in the complex but for the past 15 days he had been coming to building and distributing sweets and cricket balls to the kids, said Shah,a stock broker.
