A team of policemen from the Versova police station have been sent to Uttar Pradesh to look for Prabhat Tripathi (22),the security guard who allegedly robbed film producer Sajid Nadiadwala of cash and valuable worth Rs 50 lakh on Friday.

According to Versova police,Nadiadwala and his wife,Barkha, had returned from a party to their residence at Ocean View building in Versova when their security guard Tripathi accosted them. After threatening Nadiadwalas with a country made revolver,Tripathi forced the couple to hand over Rs 10 lakhs in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 40 lakhs before fleeing.

“From what we have gathered so far,Tripathi hails from UP and had been working with Tiger Securities for the last six months. He had been employed at the Nadiadwala residence since that time itself. Apart from questioning his colleagues and friends to trace leads about his whereabouts,we have also dispatched a team to UP to check if he has fled there after the robbery,” said ACP (DN Nagar Division) Dilip Suryavanshi.

Tiger Securities is owned by Gurmeet Singh Shera, who had worked as a bodyguard for Bollywood star Salman Khan.
