Two men have been arrested by the Mumbai police for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in South Mumbai. The police reported that the incident occurred around 8:30 PM on Monday when the two accused, riding a motorcycle, touched her inappropriately and then fled the scene.

According to police officials, the case was registered at the DB Marg police station after the victim, who was waiting to cross the road, was molested by them.

A team led by Assistant Police Inspector Vaibhav Gurav started scrutinising the CCTV footage of the spot. “We tracked the accused using the CCTV footage, which revealed that they had visited a bar after the incident and made a payment via Google Pay,” said an officer.

By examining the Google Pay transactions, the police obtained the suspect’s mobile numbers. One suspect, identified as Ganesh Sutar, was traced and arrested.

“During interrogation, Sutar revealed the identity of the second suspect, Bhupendra Jatav, who was subsequently arrested in the Worli area,” the officer added.
