Colors office ransacked

The Andheri office of Colors television channel was ransacked by a group of about 15 around 8.30 pm on Thursday.

The Andheri (East) office of Colors television channel was ransacked by a group of about 15 around 8.30 pm on Thursday. Goods worth about Rs 40,000 were damaged in the attack,allegedly orchestrated by Shiv Sena members to protest a music reality show featuring Pakistani artists.

“The group came to the channel’s office at Simran Building on Parsi Panchayat Road and began pelting stones. We were called immediately and our personnel dispersed the crowd,” said a police officer. He said the crowd broke glass furniture and a few electronic goods. Andheri Police arrested one person on Friday in connection with the attack.

“We have identified two more persons from the group. All involved will be arrested,” said Jt CP (Law and Order) Sadanand Date.

Meanwhile,Andheri Police have former Shiv Sena MLA Srikant Sarmalkar (61) in connection with an unlawful assembly,criminal intimidation and trespassing case registered against him.
