CM Devendra Fadnavis asks Force Motors to give wage hike to workers

The solution came following a meeting of NCP president Sharad Pawar and other elected representatives from Pune with Fadnavis to discuss the problems of workers who have been on indefinite strike.

Intervening in an 11-year-old dispute between workers and management of the city-based Force Motors, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday managed to resolve the issue by persuading the company’s chairman to give a Rs 14,000 wage hike to 440 workers, according to a statement issued by the chief minister’s office.

The solution came following a meeting of NCP president Sharad Pawar and other elected representatives from Pune with Fadnavis to discuss the problems of workers who have been on indefinite strike.

The chairman of Force Motors, Abhay Firodia, was also present at the meeting, the statement by the chief minister’s office said.

“Fadnavis suggested a Rs 14,000 wage hike for the workers and also urged the management to consider their pending arrears,” the statement said.
