Civic body stays auction of homes

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday stayed the order to auction off homes in Kingston Building,Hiranandani,Powai. Fifty families in this upscale society were under the threat of losing their homes as the society’s developer had not paid dues amounting to Rs 1.24 crore.

The residents on Tuesday paid Rs 25 lakh to the civic body and the remaining amount of Rs 20 lakh will be paid in a month. The civic body has stayed the auction for the time being and extended the time period by another month.
