Mumbai civic body school teacher molests Class 6 girl ‘for talking in class’, booked

The Mumbai police on Thursday booked the teacher of a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) school in North Mumbai for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old girl under the pretext of punishing her for talking in class. Later, the probe revealed that the accused teacher had done similar acts with the minor girl twice in the past.

The Class 6 girl told the police that the accused went beside her on noticing her talking to a friend as the class was progressing, and in the name of punishment, he held her hand and then inappropriately touched her.

According to the police, the girl did not understand what had happened, and hence, after some time, she went up to him to question his inappropriate behaviour. The accused teacher then hit her on her hand with a wooden ruler and also slapped her twice in front of the entire class, the girl alleged in the First Information Report (FIR).
