DPCG ‘Cannon Kings’ beat Elphinstone Cricket Club ‘Macho Daves’ to emerge champions in the Zarine & Yazdi Daruvala Charitable Trust Mumbai Billiards League 2013

DPCG ‘Cannon Kings’ beat Elphinstone Cricket Club ‘Macho Daves’ to emerge champions in the Zarine & Yazdi Daruvala Charitable Trust Mumbai Billiards League 2013,held under the auspices of BSAM,at the Dadar Parsi Colony Gymkhana.

In the finals,Dadar Parsi Colony Gymkhana ‘Cannon Kings’ were given a strong start by Rushad Patel who shocked the formidable Farhad Tengra in the opening tie. Navroze Vania lost the second tie to seasoned Sunil Jain of ECC,but Patel’s early effort left Marzban Amroliwalla an easy target of 50 points to prevail over veteran Kaizad Mehta to seal victory.

The winners received Rs. 50,000 while the runners-up received Rs. 25,000.

Jaiveer Dhingra of P.J. Hindu Gymkhana was adjudged the ‘Player of the Tournament’ for his consistent performance that included a century break and young Marzban Amroliwalla was awarded the ‘Most Promising Player of the Tournament’.

Olympia Monsoon Soccer

The Olympia 7-a-side Monsoon Soccer Tournament,organised by the Olympia Sports & Events,will be held on Sunday,June 30,2013. A total of 32 teams have registered for this tournament,which will be an instant one-day event and will be played at the Aarey Bhasker Sports and Welfare Centre,Gokuldham,Goregaon (East). 2nd leg of MRSC Center begins

The second leg of the Mumbai Rush Soccer Club’s Center of Excellence under the guidance of the Technical Director from USA,Mitch Bickmore has kicked off at the St. Andrew’s ground,Bandra. This initiative is in partnership with Rush Soccer USA to promote talent and elevate the standard of Indian football.

The first batch of 30 trainees,including the four talented players who were awarded with complete scholarship at the MRSC Champions league to train under the newly launched MRSC Center of Excellence completed their month long first-leg training in Goa. The second leg in Mumbai will be on till October,following which the trainees will be sent to USA for a month for the third leg in October.

Mitch Bickmore is in India to introduce the RUSH WAY at the Center of Excellence training program,which is an ideal platform for players to access high level residential and non residential training and gain international exposure in USA.

Maharashtra clinch title

Maharashtra clinched overall championship title with 310 points during 30th National Sub-Junior Aquatic Championships held at the SAG swimming pool,Campal,Goa.

In 100 freestyle Maharashtra’s Sahil Gangote andAnya Tyagi created new record while there was notable performances from Muskan Tolani,Raina Salda,Neel Roy,Ariesa Mongia,Tejaswita Bhardwaj,Dhanayush Raninga.
