Shimmer and shine
Katrina Kaif is making her presence felt everywhere these days. The damsel,who has won praise and accolades for her performance in New York,seems to be on a high these days. On Saturday evening,she was at the new brand initiative of Nakshatra,dressed in a ravishing one-shouldered white gown. Adding to the beauty of the gown were her diamond chandelier earrings and a delicate necklace. Kat also walked the ramp with other models at a fashion show scheduled for the evening.

Veiled compliments
Turkish artist Guler Ates was beaming at the turnout for the opening of her first India solo at The Loft that opened on Saturday. Artist Riyas Komu,who has his own take on burqa-clad women,was intrigued and enjoyed Ates work. We are seeing aesthetics and arguments like this after a long time. The last time I saw work like this was during artist Rummana Hussains time, says Komu,who was one of the first to arrive with Sunil Padwal. Later,sculptor Arzaan Khambatta showed up sans wife Khusnuma.
Artists Brinda Miller and Kahini Arte Merchant were seen bonding with Guler while Papri Bose,whose studio Guler visited the previous day,made it a point to visit the Turkish artists show. Jaideep Mehrotra and Meera Devidayal made their presence felt along with collectors Sangita Jindal and Mukeeta Jhaveri. Sothebys representative,Maithili Parekh and photographer Nrupen Madhvani were also among the guests.
