So,we finally see more than just Bollywood celebrity guests on television.

So,we finally see more than just Bollywood celebrity guests on television. Kaun Banega Crorepati has invited six of India’s top sportspersons on its sets to celebrate Diwali — tennis player Leander Paes, wrestlers Sushil Kumar and Manoj Kumar, badminton players Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa and cricketer S Sreesanth. Of all the names included, only Sreesanth really made us raise our eyebrows; we won’t cast aspersions on his general knowledge, but we can’t help but wonder if he won’t bring his own abrasive way of dealing with people. He’d better watch out and not anger the wrestlers — or there will be more than just a slap this time.

Drama king

Television characters lead such terribly dramatic lives. As soon as there appears a big, happy family on the screen, look a little further and you’ll see someone out to destroy them. In the case of Na Aana Is Des Laado, the villain now is Bhanu Pratap, played by Aman Verma, who’s sporting a bushy moustache and black teeka for the role. The character has spent 15 years in jail and his sole aim in life now is to destroy Ammaji and her family. Yawn. However Aman seem to be excited about his role as he reveals,“This is the first time I will be portraying a Haryanvi character. Right now I am busy learning the dialect and the accent,as I want to do complete justice to the character.” Yawn again.

Singing star

Tiku Talsania has a penchant for learning music, and he makes full use of his presence on the sets of Sajan Re Jhoot Maat Bolo. It seems that co-actor Sumeet Raghavan has got a piano in his vanity van and Tiku expressed his desire to learn to play the piano. As they share a great rapport on and off the screen,Sumeet immediately agreed. Thus, whenever these two are not required in the shot, they usually get together in Sumeet’s vanity van and jam. Slowly most of the cast joined in and these days, they even play antakshari in their spare time. Wish all work environments were this conducive to fun.

Pup’s the word

WE hope that someday we too get a gift like the one that Ranjeet Rajwada got recently on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar. The ‘prince of ghazal’,as he is fondly called, perfectly rendered Tujhse Naaraaz Nahi Zindagi, and had everyone floored. His parents,in a show of appreciation, gifted him a Labrador puppy. Ranjeet had always wanted a dog and till then, his parents had refused to indulge his wish,as a pet requires great care. But after his splendid performance, his parents couldn’t hold out on him anymore and actually went on stage to hand him the delightful little ball of fur.’
