Threat call to Ambanis: Mumbai police begin probe

According to the police, the call centre of the hospital received the calls at 12.57pm and 5.04pm on Wednesday.

THE MUMBAI police have initiated an investigation to locate an unknown person who allegedly dialled the landline number of Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital, threatening to blow it up. The caller also threatened to kill industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family, and blow up their house, Antilia.

According to the police, the call centre of the hospital received the calls at 12.57pm and 5.04pm on Wednesday. Reliance Industries Limited spokesperson said, “The caller also threatened to blow up Antilia and made multiple threats to members of the Ambani family. A police complaint has been registered and we are providing all the necessary details to the police in their investigations.”

After the police officials were informed, anti-sabotage checking was carried out at the hospital and Antilia. Security was also beefed up at both the places, said a senior police official.

The D B Marg police have registered a case and are trying to locate the person through the call data record of the number.
