The passengers of a Borivali-bound bus had a scare on Sunday morning when the vehicle fell into a creek in Mankhurd after the driver lost control. The police said none of the passengers were hurt. According to the police, the bus had left Bangalore on Saturday with 30 passengers and was bound for Borivali. At 9.30 am on Sunday, the bus was passing the octroi post in Mankhurd when the driver, Lokesh Y(43) and the cleaner Satish(36) got into an argument.

“They disagreed over where to drop the passengers enroute. Their argument escalated and the two began to assault each other. Lokesh then lost control of the bus and it rammed into the divider. The bus crossed into the opposite carriageway and fell into the creek,” said B. G. Chavan, assistant inspector, Mankhurd police station.

He added none of the passengers were hurt as the bus dropped five feet into the creek but did not plunge forward further.
