BMC under attack: Tanker mafia linked to Sena, says Somaiya

Kirit SomaiyaThe BJP attacked ally Shiv Sena yet again on Wednesday, with party MP Kirit Somaiya blaming the Sena for “sheltering the tanker mafia” in Mumbai.

Alleging that the city lost 50 lakh litres of drinking water every day due to illicit activities of the tanker mafia, Somaiya alleged that “agents affiliated to the Shiv Sena were running the syndicate” in connivance with the “tanker mafia and officials from the BMC.”

On Wednesday, Somaiya met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Vidhan Bhavan and demanded a high-level probe into the matter. “I have submitted all relevant documents and sought an SIT to e set up for the matter. The chief minister has asked the civic commissioner to look into the matter and has assured prompt action,” he said.
