Benegal’s Cinemascope

The 12th Annual New York Indian Film Festival will this time showcase the genius of Shyam Benegal. Starting May 23,the festival will show three remarkable films by Benegal — Zubeidaa,Sardari Begum and Mammo. While Benegal is most known for his films such as Manthan,Bhumika,Nishant and Ankur,these three films being shown at the festival,are his underrated works. Benegal will also be available for a discussion,following each screening.
