Beed rally: Time has come to put ‘wrong’ people in place, says Sharad Pawar

The speakers at the rally targeted the state and central governments echoing that the NCP is being targeted as Pawar has been working to bring together all opposition parties in the country.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar on Thursday chose Beed in Maharashtra to warn the “wrong” people that “time has come to control them” and that “the people of Maharashtra will do so by pressing the right button on the EVM, which will show them their rightful place”.

The choice of venue in the Marathwada region is significant as it is the stronghold of Maharashtra’s Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde, who is a close aide of Deputy Chief Minister and Pawar’s nephew Ajit Pawar, who has joined hands with the BJP.

“You fought the elections against the BJP and then you chose to join hands with the BJP. But when people will go to polling booths, those voters will decide which button to press and where to send you all,” said Pawar. He was speaking at a ‘Swabhiman Rally’ as part of his tour to rebuild his party post the rebellion by Ajit.
