Students of Apostolic Carmel High School, Bandra, who won a competition organised on the World Environment Day by the Bhamla Foundation, were awarded at a function on Wednesday.
The event was organised on June 5 to spread awareness about the conservation of environment. Nearly 15 schools participated in a competition in which they undertook various activities towards making the earth a greener planet.
The prizes, which included a trophy and scholarship, were given away by Asif Bhamla, president of the foundation. Noted environmentalist Darryl Demonte and activist Shyama Kulkarni were also guests at the event.
“This school has done a fantastic job. It is an inspiration for the rest of the schools. I thank the students and the teachers. We look forward to a pledge of a clean and green Bandra,” said Bhamla.
