Mumbai Police boys excelled in their 56-36 win over Willingdon YMCA in the junior section, thus giving some consolation to the Policemen, who were humbled by hosts Mastan YMCA in Group A in the mens section of the Mastan YMCA Basketball tournament, held at their courts at Nagpada on Monday. The boys were all over the court in the first quarter and were up 19-5 before the Willingdon boys could find their feet. The second quarter was well fought (11-10),while the third quarter again brought the boys from the Police team to the fore (11-6). However, the Willingdon boys, fought tooth and nail in the deciding quarter which they won 16-15. But it proved to be too late as the Police boys had established quite a substantial lead earlier that helped them to emerge victors.
