Among those CBI has booked, former NCB officer who probed Aryan Khan
Last month, Singh was dismissed from service in connection with a 2018 case of Delhi NCB, in which he was accused of not carrying out the investigation properly
In the 2018 Delhi case, an inquiry was initiated against him by the then top functionaries of NCB. After an inquiry found guilty of misconduct he was sacked from the service last month. (Express Photo) Among the three former Narcotics Control Bureau officers, who were booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday including IRS officer Sameer Wankhede, in a corruption and extortion case, is Vishwa Vijay Singh — whose name has been consistently in controversy.
Singh is the same former superintendent of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai, who probed actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and actor Rhea Chakraborty and comedian Bharti Singh.
Singh was the head of the team that raided the Cordelia cruise off the Mumbai coast on the night of October 2, 2021.
He is the same officer who led a team of officers to Shah Rukh Khan’s residence — Mannat — in connection with the probe. Later his team had arrested Aryan Khan. Khan was eventually released on bail by the Bombay High Court on October 28.
