Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, NCP’s Ajit Pawar, on Saturday said that electronic voting machines (EVM) are trustworthy and the system cannot be manipulated by a single person.

This comes on a day his party, in a statement, said that the ruling BJP fears not returning to power in the next Lok Sabha polls, and demanded that the 2024 elections be held using ballot paper.

“I trust EVMs. A single person cannot manipulate EVMs. It’s a big system and multiple checks are involved. However, the party which faces defeat in polls blames the voting machine but one should understand that the poll outcome is the mandate of the people,” Ajit Pawar told media.
