Chavan had joined the BJP recently.
“I did not meet Sonia Gandhi before tendering resignation. Therefore, any statement in this regard is wrong, laughable and illogical,” Chavan said, adding, “I was working in the Congress headquarters till the last minute. The information was revealed after I tendered my resignation and quit the party. Nobody knew about my resignation till then.”
