ACP immobilised victim,then slit his throat: Cops

ACP Shivaji Narawane,arrested for allegedly murdering his stepson,started recounting details of the murder.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shivaji Narawane,arrested for allegedly murdering his stepson,started recounting details of the murder Monday,which,police say was planned by him and his wife Nanda. Police suspect Narawane first immobilised the victim,Rohan Jhodge,before killing him.

Rohan,25,was allegedly killed in his Tilak Nagar residence on October 24 and police arrested Nanda the next day and then Narawane Saturday night. Both accused have been remanded in police custody till October 31.

“Rohan was first immobilised by being struck on the head and then his throat was slit,” said Quaiser Khalid,additional commissioner of police (East region).

An officer said Narawane,in his initial confession Sunday,had said he had hit Rohan on the head with a hard and blunt object.

“We are trying to recover the second weapon,the one that Narawane used to knock Rohan out before killing him.”
