2 booked after architect duped of Rs 50 lakh

(Express Photo) A 50-year-old architect from Jogeshwari has filed a complaint with Kandivali police station after two people duped him of Rs 50 lakh. The accused lured the complainant, assuring lucrative returns of Rs 1 lakh per month against the investment made in their company. The complainant got neither the promised interest nor the principal amount of Rs 50 lakh.
The complainant has known the accused, Fahim Siddiqui, for the past few years. In December 2019, Siddiqui visited the complainant’s office and informed him about his company SkyLight, which he co-owned with his friend Irshad Ansari. “Siddiqui told him his firm was doing well and urged the complainant to invest money in the firm. He offered Siddiqui a monthly return of Rs 1 lakh on an investment of Rs 50 lakh,” said a police officer. The complainant trusted Siddiqui and decided to invest.
