A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three persons, including two minors, inside a closed public toilet on P D’Mello Road early on Tuesday. The victim has been sent to Dongri Children’s Home.

The girl is a resident of Malwani, where she lives with her mother Reshma. On Monday evening, her mother sent her to a store near their home to buy dal. On the way there, she met a former neighbour,Kaalu and told him that she wanted to eat ice-cream,police said. Kaalu allegedly told her he would buy her one at CST,and she agreed to accompany him.

The two reached CST at 9.30 pm and Kaalu told the victim to wait for him. However,he did not return, police said. At 11 pm,one of the accused,Abdul Rehman Siddiqui (20),approached her. He asked her what she was doing at the station so late. When she told him she was waiting for Kaalu,Siddiqui allegedly told her that she could stay with him for the night and promised to drop her home the next morning.

Police said the girl was hesitant, but later accepted Siddiqui’s offer. Siddiqui took her to the toilet in Balgi Lane, near Carnac Bridge where the three accused raped her. The accused then let her to go,threatening her with dire consequences if she told anyone. The victim ran out and was spotted by a police patrolling van on P D’Mello Road. She led the cops to the toilet, where the police found Siddiqui and arrested him.

The two minors were also picked up. Siddiqui has been remanded in police custody till November 5. The minors have been sent to the Dongri Children’s Home. Police said drug addicts have made the toilet their den. The three accused work as daily wage labourers at CST.
