Eleven consortia,including various international companies,have expressed interest to be consultants for the Inter State Bus Terminus and truck terminus,one of the several Quick Win projects of the state government. The project that was conceived in 2006 will get a go ahead only after the Assembly polls.
According to R Ramana,Additional Chief,Transport & Communication (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority),the response for the consultancy of the ISBT and Iconic Tower at Wadala is encouraging. Eleven consortia have expressed interest for ISBT and the proposed Iconic Tower. The scope of the consultant would be to prepare conceptual designs for ISBT and the Tower, he said. The companies who have bid for the project include WSP Middle East,Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation,Louis Berger Pvt Ltd,STUP Consultants,among others.
The Consultant would be assisting MMRDA for preparing the bid document,evaluation and supervision of the project, Ramana said. MMRDA intends to develop the ISBT on DBOT through PPP format.
