Ketamine,an anaesthetic illegally used to prepare drugs that offer a high,worth Rs 10 crore was intercepted and seized at the Mumbai Chhattrapati Shivaji International Airports Cargo Complex on Monday by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). The arrested consignee Anil Gaikwad (35),who DRI said had confessed to smuggling the drug,is alleged to have exported Ketamine seven times earlier. The consignment was meant for delivery in UK. Gaikwad has been booked under section 42 of the NDPS Act and relevant sections of the Customs Act. The agency is probing involvement of a bigger syndicate in the illegal export of the drug.
