10-yr-old girl killed in fire in Mumbai’s Mankhurd

According to medical officials from Shatabdi hospital, Farah, who has been admitted in the hospital, sustained 70 percent burns A 10-year-old girl was killed while another woman sustained injuries after a fire broke out at Mankhurd’s Mandala area on Monday night.
The incident was reported around 8.20 on Monday inside Janta Nagar, situated near the Hanuman temple in Mankhurd. According to local residents, the fire was reported inside a residential unit along the internal lane number 4 of Mandala area.
Even as the blaze was contained within minutes, two persons including a minor incurred serious injuries.
They were take to the civic-run Shatabdi hospital in Govandi where the firl declared dead on arrival while the other victim’s condition remains critical.
The deceased has been identified as Khushi Khan (10) while the other victim has been identified as Farah Khan (25). According to medical officials from Shatabdi hospital, Farah, who has been admitted in the hospital, sustained 70 percent burns.
Meanwhile, officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) said that the blaze was extinguished around 8.40 pm.
Faiyaz Alam Shaikh, a local resident and founder of Govandi Citizen’s welfare Forum said, “Even though the fire rescuers had reached in time, the trucks took time to reach the main spot as the house is situated in a narrow lane, which is dug up.”
