Young Indians mark World Heritage Week

On the occasion of World Heritage Week,Young Indians Ludhiana Chapter organised a short excursion trip to Doraha Fort,Ludhiana on Sunday 26th August.

On the occasion of World Heritage Week,Young Indians Ludhiana Chapter organised a short excursion trip to Doraha Fort,Ludhiana on Sunday 26th August. This spot has been very popular among visitors and photographers.

Addressing on the occasion,Sifti Riat,Co Chair (Yi Ludhiana Chapter) said that the objective is to know the historical importance of the fort and also to capture the scenic beauty of the fort which is perfect for photography.

Built by the Mughal ruler Jahangir,it is a huge rectangular sarai.

Though in a dilapidated condition,its ancient grandeur can still be viewed from the two massive double-storied gateways,which still stands intact.

One of the gates is beautifully decorated with blue and yellow glazed tiles.

The second gate is different with its façade divided into panels and furnished with carved brickwork.

Dr S Rakesh Bharti,a very well known photographer from Ludhiana accompanied the Yi members for this visit and he also enlightened them on the subject of photography.

Present on the occasion were Sifti Riat,Co Chair (Ludhiana Chapter),Dr Ashvind Bawa (Yi Member),Ankit (Yi Member),Amit Juneja (Yi Member),Arjun Bhakoo(Yi Member),Ruchi Bhakoo (Yi Member),Gunjan (Yi Member) among other members and guests.
