Resentment has refused to die down among the Congress workers after ticket allotment. Today a majority of workers including the former District Youth President Dimple Rana alleged,“It seems that the ones who recommended candidates fell prey to some alluring, which is why deserving candidates were not chosen.”

Rana said,“Gurmail Pehalwaan, who joined Congress few years back after leaving BSP,has been given a ticket from Ludhiana East while many senior Congress leaders were already seeking a ticket from this constituency. If the party fails to change any candidate, either me or Jagmohan Sharma or District Mahila Congress chief Leena Taparia will contest as Independent from this constituency.”

Dimple said,“MP Manish Tiwari is the main culprit for this wrong choice of candidates and the party will pay for the same in the elections.”

He added,“Why are statements of 33% quota for youth and women being preached when they are not to be given any representation at all?”

Dimple stated that many last minute changes happened in the choice of tickets and he alleged that party did not believe in any grass root level survey.

Tiwari meanwhile has already denied the allegations and had stated that differences will be sorted out soon. He however has not come back to the city as yet after the ticket allotment.

Apart from these Rana,Taparia and Sharma, many other leaders are alleging that Congress leaders have chosen wrong candidates at various places. Independent candidates may be announced from Ludhiana East by this group in a day or two, they stated.
