Two dead as truck hits motorcycle

A 50-year-old woman and her daughter-in-law died after a speeding truck ran over them on Rahon road under Basti Jodhewal police station around 11 am on Friday.

A 50-year-old woman and her daughter-in-law died after a speeding truck ran over them on Rahon road under Basti Jodhewal police station around 11 am on Friday. The deceased were identified as Mohinder Kaur and her daughter-in-law Narinder Kaur (28),both residents of Chaharwal village.

According to the police,the two were riding pillion on a motorcycle driven by Kuldeep Singh,son of Mohinder Kaur.

Along with them,Kuldeep’s minor son Charanjit Singh was also on the bike but did not sustain injuries in the incident.

Eyewitnesses said an Indica car,which was reversing on the side of the road,hit the motorcycle first due to which Mohinder Kaur and Narinder Kaur fell on the road.

A truck,coming from behind,ran over the duo.

While the Indica driver fled from the scene along with his car,the truck driver left his vehicle behind. The truck was later impounded.

Till the filing of this report,Basti Jodhewal police were still investigating the scene of incident and no FIR had been registered.
