Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari, who is a local MP,on Thursday said Akalis were frustrated and people were disillusioned with them.
They (the Akalis) must themselves be realising as what they have done to the state with not even police feeling safe under their regime, what to speak of the common people, he said, addressing a series of rallies for Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections.
The minister said the fact that the Akalis were trying to use force, intimidation and arm-twisting against the Congress workers only proved that they had become quite unpopular among the masses and were sure of their defeat. But let me make it clear to all the Akalis that the entire Congress party stood behind the party workers and no force or intimidation will be tolerated, he added.
