Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) at PAU campus organised a two-day orientation programme for newly recruited computer operators under Centrally sponsored Support to State Extension Programmes for Extension Reforms (ATMA) scheme which concluded on Thursday.
Fourteen computer operators from different districts of the state attended the programme.
Dr M S Mahal,Director,Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute,introduced them to the concept of ATMA scheme,its background,objectives and strategy for its implementation and institutional set-up at village,block,district and state level.
Dr SPS Brar highlighted the documentation and operationalisation of Strategic Research and Extension Plan (SREP) and explained the activities under ATMA scheme.
Participants were exposed to skills in official writing,role of information technology in agriculture development,evaluation process and electronic monitoring system for reporting of progress of the scheme. They were also given technical and practical knowledge about data analysis through Excel.
