The Industrial Training Institute will now have a short-term diploma course in hotel management. On Tuesday, the course was started at ITI (boys), Gill road, which has been approved by the Ministry of Tourism, and would be of 45- day duration.
This course was formally launched by Hira Singh Gabria, former minister and chairman, District Planning Board, by distributing free education kits to the students.
Gabria said that this particular course would be conducted by the Institute of Hotel Management, Bathinda. He said that this course would be of 45-day duration and the classes of first batch of 35 students started from Tuesday onwards.
He said that along with free education, the students would also get education material and uniform free of cost. Besides, those who complete the course would also be paid a financial assistance of Rs 1,500.
ITI (boys) principal Baljinder Singh said that the staff from Institute of Hotel Management, Bathinda, would stay at Ludhiana for this course.
