Sarabha Nagar market firing leaves 1 hurt

Panic gripped Sarabha Nagar market at about 10.30 pm on Wednesday when firing was done in the open during a group clash leaving one Sehbag Singh wounded.

Panic gripped Sarabha Nagar market at about 10.30 pm on Wednesday when firing was done in the open during a group clash leaving one Sehbag Singh wounded. He received an injury in his shoulder and was admitted to DMCH.

The police,on the statement of Sehbag Singh,have registered an FIR against five persons — Harry,Manpreet alias MP,Iqbal,Nikhil and Mani. However,all are absconding after the firing incident.

Meanwhile,Sehbag is stated to be out of danger. SHO Manjinder Singh said that the police are carrying out investigations but no one has been arrested so far. He said that it has not yet been identified whether it was a group clash or something else.

It needs to be mentioned that this is not the first such incident in Sarabha Nagar market. Such rowdy incidents have happened in the past as well.

Following Wednesday night’s incident,the police were extra vigil in the market today. However,in the evening the rush in the market was back to normal.

Police Commissioner Ishwar Singh has ordered removal of black films from cars as per the orders of the Supreme Court. This drive has been on for past many days and was more intensive in the Sarabha Nagar market today in the wake of Wednesday night’s incident.

The police commissioner said that such vehicles are often used by anti-social elements for crime. So removal of black film is a must,he ordered.
