Punjab will provide govt jobs to players who excel on international-level

SAD-BJP government is working aggressively to have more Punjabi players in Rio Olympics 2016.

Punjab Irrigation Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon Friday said that for promoting sports culture in the state, the Punjab government would be providing government jobs to all players who excel in sports on international level. Dhillon said that SAD-BJP government was working on an aggressive campaign to produce maximum number of trained sportspersons and to have more Punjabi players in the Indian contingent for Rio Olympics 2016. Dhillon was speaking at the inauguration of the Jarkhar Sports Tournament here on Friday. He said that sports tournaments help youth to stay away from the menace of drugs. The sports festival will continue till Sunday in which teams of various sports academies from across the state and outside will take part.
