After post-graduate students, now all the undergraduate students of the Panjab University and affiliated colleges will be able to submit their examination forms online.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Arun Kumar Grover, on Monday launched the online system of examination forms, for the undergraduate students of the University, University School for Open Learning (USOL), affiliated colleges and the private candidates. AS many as 188 colleges and the regional centres will be covered under this system.
In the first phase, where the online system was launched for the post graduate students, over 20,000 students have submitted their examination forms online. In the second phase, the University had also launched an examination grievances monitoring system (EGMS) to help students to file examination related grievances. The website under the EGMS has received around 202 queries in the past seven months.
Launching of the website for the undergraduate students was a part of the third phase. Approximately 40,000 students who would be appearing for the December, 2014 examination under the semester system are expected to be benefited by this move.
As per the online system, under-graduate students will be able to file their examination forms by logging on to the website pgexam.puchd.ac.in , where the students will be guided to submit the forms.
The form itself will be submitted in two steps, with the first step requiring students to submit their particulars, uploading their passport size photograph and the second step involving downloading the bank slip and submission of fee. The online system is yet to be made compulsory for the students.
While, the Panjab University also launched a PUPIN (Punjab University Permanent Identification Number) system 2014-15 for the first year students of the University and all the affiliated colleges. The Pupin system will help them to register online to get their roll numbers from the University.
